Let not your properties or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah

O you who believe! Let not your properties or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. And whosoever does that, then they are the losers.

And spend (in charity) of that with which We have provided you, before death comes to one of you and he says: “My Lord! If only You would give me respite for a little while (i.e. return to the worldly life), then I should give Sadaqah (i.e. Zakat) of my wealth, and be among the righteous [i.e. perform Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah)].

And Allah grants respite to none when his appointed time (death) comes. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

  1. As-salaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmat Allah Bint Aden,

I am glad that you benefited from this post wal-lil-Lahil-Hamd!

    SubhanAllah

And none can know the host/forces of your Lord but He(Quran 74:31)

    And

A believer to another believer is like a building whose different parts enforce each other. (Sahih Muslim Volume 3, Book 43, Number 626)

Today, when I visited your wordpress, I did it merely because I had not visited in a while and I was upset about the fact that I am in a mixed-gender environment for school. I did not expect to find the fatwa or anything related to it.

Then, later this evening, I was talking to a dear friend about her desire to leave (or, rather, delay) her secular eduction to puruse her study of the Deen, and subhanAllah, there was a message in my inbox about your comment.

May Allah make it easy for you and guide you to the best of affairs. Allahumma aatina fid-dunyati hasanatan wa fil-aakhirati hasanatan wa-qena ‘athaab an-naar. Ameen.

If you need anything (sometimes “talks” can be rough), you have my e-mail address (through my comment on your wordpress) and you are more than welcome to e-mail me (about that or anything else).

May Allah preserve you and protect you always. Ameen.

    Your Sister in Islam,

    Mariam
